What's Next?: Groups That Equip

The only way it will happen is if we keep sight of Jesus’ command to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

BIG IDEA:

God wants to equip you and use you to equip others. At Skyline, Life Groups are all about you finding a home where you feel loved, building relationships, and taking God’s word from your head & heart, and living it out with your hands.

How Do We Equip One Another?

God has made each and every one of us to be a part of His body. None of us can by ourselves accomplish what the entire body can do together.

Connect & learn to build relationships in a healthy way.

1. Love One Another.

John 13:34

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know you are my disciples.

2. Accept One Another.

Romans 15:5-7

May God who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other—each with the attitude of Christ Jesus toward the other. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. So accept each other just as Christ has accepted you; then God will be glorified.

Life Groups are to be a place where we accept each other just as Christ has accepted us.

Life Groups are also a place where we hold each other accountable and admonish each other in love—where we point each other towards Jesus even in our own mess.

3. Encourage One Another.

1 Thessalonians 5:10-11

He died for us so that we can live with him forever, whether we are dead or alive at the time of his return. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

4. Bear with and Forgive One Another.

Colossians 3:13-15

You must make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace.

5. Serve One Another

Galatians 5:13

For you have been called to live in freedom—not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love.
