Word of the Day: Voice
What does your inner voice say to you?
What is its message and what is the vow it has prompted you to make?
The vows we make have the potential to become idols in our life—we bow down to them all the time.
Judges 6:15 NLT
“But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”
Judges 6:25 NLT
That night the Lord said to Gideon, “Take the second bull from your father’s herd, the one that is seven years old. Pull down your father’s altar to Baal, and cut down the Asherah pole standing beside it.
The Big Idea:
Idols are brought down by listening to, meditating on, trusting in, testing, and obeying, the Voice of God’s Spirit.
The Voice of the Spirit is heard through…
1. The Bible
2. Other Believers
3. Life Experiences
The Plan:
First
Identify the vow you have made from listening to your inner voice.
Then
Listen – Where is God’s Voice?
Meditate – What is the message?
Trust – Which voice will I believe?
Test – I’ll dip my toe in the water.
Obey – OK, I’m taking the plunge!
Share – This is my story.
