Every year our church spreads smiles on Christmas Eve by giving out boxes of fresh Krispy Kreme donuts to Fire Fighters, Police, Hospitals, and just about anywhere we can find people working on Christmas Eve. It shows them that someone is thinking about them at work while everyone else is at home celebrating Christmas. One Christmas Eve, the Dube family delivered to a nurses station. To their shock and dismay, one of the nurses giggled and screamed with delight! God answered my prayer! God answered my prayer! God answered my prayer! After she settled down, the story came out that the night before this lady was struggling with the circumstances of life and wondering, “Does God care about me?" Then she prayed a simple prayer and posted it on Facebook. God, I would love a box of Krispy Kreme donuts on Christmas Eve. God answered her prayer.
There are thousands of people within our reach who wonder if God cares. The answer is, YES he does. He sent his son to offer us a new life and eternity in heaven. But, they often need to feel cared for before we can tell them what Christmas is really for. If you would like to spread smiles on Christmas Eve simply sign up at the Concierge and pay for the donuts. The price is $5.00 per dozen. You can buy as many as you would like to give away. Then, on Christmas Eve, pick them up after service and drop them off to someone working on Christmas Eve. The Concierge will be able to help you find places to spread your smiles.
