I Have Decided to Follow, Now What?

Scripture:

1 John 2:5-6

But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Big Idea:

People are telling you to train that inner voice to speak momentum into your lives all around you. But our inner voice is often inconsistent, proud, or lost. Jesus offers us his voice. Trust in his momentum.

1. Yes, Jesus I will trust your forgiveness and salvation.

Matthew 11:29

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

2. Yes, Jesus, I will learn to hear you and follow you from the body of Christ.

1 John 2:5

But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them.

1 Peter 2:2-3

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

3. Yes, Jesus, I will learn to hear and follow you straight from your word by studying the bible.

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness

4. Yes, Jesus, I will learn to hear and follow you by giving my life to disciple others.

John 17:8

For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
