Growing in Love: Fertilizer

Boundaries - The ability to be true to what my spirit knows is best while keeping my heart open to those who demand I compromise.

1.     True to what I believe is right and good.

2.     Freedom to the one who disagrees.

Philippians 1:9-10

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.

Law of Responsibility

I am responsible to you - God’s clear role and definition of love.

I am not responsible for you - Your actions, responses, and consequences.

Galatians 6:1-5

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.

1.     I will do what God says I am responsible to do towards you.

a.     Love, protect, disciple, lead, and cherish

b.     Love, honor, build, and follow

2.     I will not take responsibility for your:

a.     Debt

b.     Drunkenness or addictions

c.     Anger

d.     Bitterness

e.     Spiritual emptiness

f.      Broken relationships with our kids, our friends, and our church.
