A Story From Junior Clubhouse

It's Sunday morning, I am tired. I wake up, get dressed and brush my teeth wondering, "Can I make it today? Do I have the strength, patience and love?" I honestly don't think so. Yet it is my job, my role and responsibility. I wake up my 3 children who are also tired. It is 6:15am. We get ready to get in the van. Pop the waffles in the toaster, milk in the sippy cups and we are on our way to church.

It's action time! From the time I get there, until we leave at 1:15pm, I am asked thousands of questions and must make hundreds of decisions. Are the rooms ready? Curriculum prepped? Staff ready? Who is here? Who is sick? Who is missing? So many details to coordinate. So many things to do. So many people to help.

This morning we have 3 staff members out sick and I need to cover them all somehow. The morning goes by in a flash and although there are great moments… There are many that almost made me cry. Let's be honest, it was a rough day. I get home, help Gary get the kids lunch and then put them down to nap. I finally lay down on the couch and I can't move. Is this worth it? I am almost crying and then I get this text: "Thank for all you do and the Jr. Clubhouse teachers. Bela told me today that she knew she was going to always be OK "because I'm always going to have the armor of God around me". This made me tear up. Diane, excellent job today! Bella got it! I am so happy that I get to give my life for this!

And there it is: The reason for all of it… One child learned that they will always have God's armor and God's love around them. No, they all didn't get it, but at least one did this week and another one will next week. When I think back, we had 4 children who memorized verses that Sunday. We have so many little children saying, “I am ok, God's got it!”

If I don't direct these leaders, love these children and give my life so they can know Christ, who will? If I don't show others how to live a life worth living, who will? Yes, it is hard. Yes, I want to give up sometimes, but God is my strength, hope & courage! God will use our hard work to touch other lives and hearts! So many children's lives are being affected and God's truth is being spread through our choices to give, even when it seems impossible. Do you want to see God's word come alive in your heart & those around you? It is possible, Skykidz & Skyline is waiting for your willing heart. Come and be a part of living a life worth living!

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
